It takes many strong hands and minds to bring delicious, nutritious fruit from our farms to consumers. At Gilbert Orchards we value respect for each other, strong work ethic, creative problem solving, and, above all, teamwork to accomplish our goals.
From the first spring buds until the last apples are off the tree, the Orchard team manages every critical step of the growing process to produce the highest quality fruit. Orchards Manager Dan Keller and Andrew Sundquist coordinate teams throughout the Yakima Valley and Columbia Basin to produce exceptional quality at optimum timing.
From the moment it is picked, each piece of fruit has the potential to nourish and delight someone. Everyday in Wiley City, the warehouse team works together from Receiving to Storage to Packing to Shipping in order to deliver the best quality fruit from our growers to the consumer.
As a keystone habit for overall success, the Safety team ensures all team members have the training and resources to work in a safe, productive environment every day.
Tracking, monitoring and reporting the many activities from field to market takes dedication to the quality and timeliness of the information. Whether its getting money out to growers, addressing employee concerns, or reporting on operations, the Office Team collaborates to provide the best service, every day.
James Tangeman and Mark Grozhans team up to provide excellent service, timely information, and a collaborative approach to get the best grower returns possible. With an emphasis on quality and fit over quantity, they work between all departments to make sure each bin is cared for from harvest to payment.
Sean Gilbert has been farming with his family since he was a young boy growing up on an apple farm outside Wapato, Washington. Shortly after getting a degree in History from Pomona College in 2003, Sean returned home to start a winery called Gilbert Cellars, while concurrently working in the family’s orchard and warehouse business, with an early focus on shipping and marketing. In 2018, he took over as President of Gilbert Orchards from his father, Cragg. Sean has served on various industry boards and most recently was the chairman of the Washington State Tree Fruit Association from 2018-2020. Sean enjoys baseball, travel, and spending time with his wife Anna, and three children Amelia (9), Virginia (7), and Jasper (5).
Andrew Sundquist grows apples, pears and cherries on about 1,800 acres in Washington’s Yakima Valley. A fourth-generation fruit grower.
